About/Contact

My name is Rodney Boyd. I’m a retired software developer and technical writer living in St John’s, NL, Canada. My interest in indexing comes from my time (most of the 1990s) writing software manuals at a Toronto company, SoftQuad, that pioneered SGML, HTML, and XML editors. In addition to creating indexes (embedded in XML documentation files) I wrote tools to publish them in various printed and online formats. Picardy is a retirement project to implement an idea for text-based index editing, initially as a Windows batch program, but now with a graphical interface.

I can’t promise full, ongoing technical support for Picardy, but for the time being at least I’m happy to provide help and answer questions.
