Picardy and QuidiVidi are not notarized Mac and Windows apps, so your system may complain when you try to download and run the installer.
Windows
- Your PC might not want to download the installer because it’s not an app it knows about. Some things you can try:
- You could try a different browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
- If your anti-virus complains, see if you can instruct it to allow the download
- Right-click the link and choose Save Link As… from the menu
- When you get the installer downloaded, double-click it to start the installation process
- If you see a screen saying Windows protected your PC and that has a “More Info” link, click More Info and it will give you the option to Run Anyway
- Alternatively, right-click (or Shift-right-click) the installer (it should be in your Downloads folder) and choose Run as Administrator from the menu
- Another option is to right-click the installer and choose Properties from the menu, and then on the General tab, click Unblock (if present)
Macintosh
QuidiVidi is not a notarized Apple app, so MacOS will try to tell you that it’s terrible, horrible, very bad, no good, etc. Pay it no mind. Ctrl-click the app and then click Open; click Open Anyway when prompted. Alternatively you can go to System Settings > Privacy and Security to find the same prompt.
Happy sailing!
